Heating Cable System

The Dupla heating system is a low-voltage bed heating system, influences life in the aquarium very decisively. The heating cable (on the bed of the aquarium integrates the entire bed soil into the chemical and physical cycle of the aquarium by means of the upward current of water caused by it.

Duplaflex Heizkabel

Depending on the size of the aquarium, you can choose between six different sizes of Duplaflex heating cables for installation on the bottom of the aquarium:

• Duplaflex 75:
• 30 watt Duplaflex 200:
• 60 watt Duplaflex 300:
• 100 watt Duplaflex 500:
• 150 watt Duplaflex 750:
• 200 watt Duplaflex 1000: 250 watt

Selection of the correct Duplaflex is dependent not only on the size of the aquarium, but also the position and type of aquarium (open or closed). Dupla has two different supplementary heating cables (Duplaflex S) to offer. These heating cables can be used as supplementary heating in the aquarium or filter as well as the sole heat source in marine aquariums or breeding and perch tanks.

Duplaflex Heating Cables are highly flexible heating cables, coated with silicone rubber, for use only with low voltage heating systems – 24 volts, thus providing absolute safety for person and fish. The gold-plated plugs avoid oxidation at the connections – even when kept in humid room.

Dupla-T-Control MP

Microprocessor controlled temperature measurement and control device with an alarm signal when prescribed limit values are exceeded or fallen short of and with a recorder output.

Dupla Kabelanker

Dupla Cable Anchors help with fixing the heating cables on the bottom of the aquarium.

Duplamat 60 or 300

Two step-down transfomers that reduce the mains voltage to a safe 24 volts are available.

Duplamat 60 with a maximum capacity of 60 watts for use with the heating cables Duplaflex 75, 200 and S 50.

Duplamat 300 with a maximum capacity of 300 watts for use with all Duplaflex heating cables in combination with the heating cables Duplaflex S – as long as the capacity of 300 watts is not exceeded.

The Dupla Therm heating systems (ground heating with a low voltage of 24V) and the ground convector Dupla Thermik Set developed by Dupla play a crucial role in ensuring ideal living conditions in the aquarium. By upwelling the heated water on the ground, the heating cable on the aquarium bed integrates the bed into the chemical and physical cycle of the entire aquarium. This ideal heating system for aquaria meets not just one but several requirements:

• As in natural waters, the ground is also heated. If only the aquarium water is heated, as is the case when using a bar heater, the water may be warm but the aquarium bed will still have room temperature, thus making plants suffer from the notorious "cold feet".
• A ground heating system copies the groundwater current found in natural waters, the roots are supplied with nutrients, and the substances given off by the roots are carried off.
• A stable redox potential in the ground, preventing it from turning black. In connection with Dupla Root (see Dupla fertilising system), the plants are supplied with an ideal iron depot such as that of tropical waters.
• Complete safety for man and animal, even when damaged. The two heating systems differ in that Dupla Therm Set heats the entire aquarium, the Dupla Thermik Set, on the other hand, only heats the aquarium bed while the aquarium itself is heated by a water heater.
