Welcome to Chun Mee Lee
Established for over 60 years, the founder of Chun Mee Lee started off as a manufacture worker. In year 1948, he decided to go into cane furniture business, setting up his shop at Anson Road. In the beginning, his business was mainly supplying cane furniture to sailors, crews on board and tourist visiting Singapore. These customers were mainly from Germany and France.
The Old Days
Early olden days, business was not easy, every chair, every table, it was all custom hand-made. It can take 2 to 3 days to produce a chair.
During the year 1970s, he pass down his business to his son Chen Foon Kee. Business flourish under the lead of Mr Chen, till today, 80 percent of the cane furniture is export to other countries like Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
